Referral relationships

Become the mover a local agent remembers.

Build useful relationships with real estate agents through relevant introductions, practical support, and reliable follow-through.

Mover Lead editorial

An agent’s recommendation puts their own reputation on the line. Your goal is not to collect a name and immediately ask for a job. It is to make the agent comfortable introducing your moving company when a client needs help.

Choose a relationship that makes sense.

Start with agents and brokerages serving areas your company actually covers. Be specific about the moves you handle and the support you can provide. A clear local fit makes the introduction more useful than a generic sales pitch.

Keep the relationship context organized: where the agent works, what you have discussed, what you promised to send, and when you should follow up. Notes should help a teammate continue the conversation, not just record that a message was sent.

Offer something useful before asking for something.

A short moving checklist, an explanation of the estimate process, or a reliable point of contact can be more useful than another company brochure. Make it easy for the agent to pass along accurate information.

Avoid promising availability, turnaround times, or services your operations team cannot support. An introduction earns attention; dependable service is what makes a partner comfortable recommending you again.

  • Explain how a client requests an estimate.
  • Share the areas and moving services you cover.
  • Provide an easy way to reach the right person on your team.

Make follow-up part of the relationship.

After an introduction, follow up on the thing you actually discussed. Send the resource you offered, answer the question, or confirm the next conversation. The message should have a reason to exist.

Stay aware of contact preferences and permission. Finding a business contact does not mean every outreach channel is appropriate. Choose a considerate approach and honor requests not to be contacted.

Do not treat every referral as interchangeable.

Record who introduced the customer and what the customer needs. Give your team enough context to handle the inquiry professionally. Your follow-through reflects on the person who made the introduction.

Review the relationship over time. Look at whether introductions are a good fit for your services, whether customers receive a good experience, and what you can do to make the process easier for everyone.

Where Mover Lead fits.

The developing Realtors workspace brings agent and brokerage context, opportunities, campaigns, conversations, tasks, and referrals into the product direction. The goal is to keep the relationship and the next action together.

The Realtors workspace is in development. Calling has a developing campaign workspace, while texting and email remain coming soon. Ask the team to confirm current account access, setup requirements, and managed partner-campaign support before planning your workflow around a preview.
